As nowadays COVID-19 is the biggest threat to mankind and there is not any vaccine of it. For around 60 days our country has gone for Lockdown, but now the Government is imposing that we have to live with this epidemic disease until its vaccine got discovered because there is not any other way.
In this duration when people are worrying and staying at home, people who have to go to other cities for their work face many problems. The main problem for them is of transportation
- How they can go to one place to other?
- Who will ensure their health safety?
- How they can protect themselves from being infected while traveling?
- How will they maintain social distancing while traveling?
Now, these all problems have a solution and that solution is AIR INDIA.
AIR INDIA has imposed so many rules and regulations that ensure one’s safety. For AIR INDIA customers safety is the first priority.
Here is a list of general instruction that are imposed by AIR INDIA:
- All passengers have to be web checked in/pre-checked in before arriving at airport.
- Passengers arriving at the airport should be wearing a mask at all times.
- Passenger can enter airport D-4 hours. Baggage drop off counters open D-3 hours and counter will close D-60 minutes.
- Elderly persons, pregnant women, and persons with health issues are advised to avoid air travel.
- Passenger should have the Aarogya Setu app on their Mobile phone, only ‘green’ status will be allowed to enter the airport.
- All passengers shall hand over Self Health declaration to Customer service agent at Kerbside counter.
- Passenger will enter the terminal building through Air India dedicated departure gate/s, maintaining social distancing.
- Passenger to proceed with boarding pass towards Temperature check gate handled by Airport Authorities.
- Special Handling Unit will continue to assist passengers requiring special attention as per new safety norms. Lounge access may be restricted.
- Only one handbag not weighing more than 7 Kgs and one check-in bag not weighing more than 23 Kgs will be allowed in Economy Class on Air India operated flights only. Business Class will be permitted 35 kgs of Checked in baggage.
- Passengers are to note that Power banks are not permitted in checked in baggage, it must be carried only in the hand baggage.
- Passengers to note that availability of baggage trolleys at the airport will be minimal.
- Passengers to note that No Newspaper / magazine will be available in the aircraft
- Passenger without checked in baggage shall proceed directly towards security check area of their respective flight.
- Check in baggage to be dropped off at dedicated baggage drop off counters.
- Claim tag of checked in baggage will not be handed over to passenger. Passenger may take photo of the baggage tag from their mobile phone.
- Payments for excess baggage etc. will be accepted electronically only.
- Passengers to adhere to social distancing through markings like circles, squares or tensa barriers.
- Passengers will walk through pre embarkation security checks as directed by the security agencies.
- While waiting in Security hold area, F&B, retail outlets passengers should maintain social distancing and sanitization protocols. Chairs marked ‘Not for use’ cannot be occupied.
- Lounges, play area, prayer rooms may have restricted access.
- Passenger to collect safety kit (three layered mask/face shield and sanitizer) from Air India at the boarding gate and wear it before proceeding for boarding.
- Passenger to observe row wise /sequential boarding in batches strictly
- During Secondary Temperature checks at boarding gate, symptomatic passengers will be offloaded.
- Bus gate boarding-Passenger to follow instructions of staff boarding passengers into coaches.
- No meal will be served on board /water bottles will be made available in galley or on seats.
- If any passenger feels uncomfortable, fatigued or has cough, it should be brought to notice of crew.
- On Arrival at destination Airport, passengers should clearly follow instructions for disembarking and maintain social distancing in Aerobridges, coaches, Stepladders etc.
- While waiting for baggage around the baggage carousel, passengers are expected to stand within the marking around the baggage belt.
- In case passenger having issues with baggage, passenger should contact Baggage counter at arrivals.
- On arrival at their destination, passenger will have to adhere to health protocols as prescribed by the destination State/Union Territory.
